Keep on going till you don’t. The world is communicating by technology. And granny will just have to keep learning and going forward. As Kahill Gibran stated in the Prophet on Speak to us of Children.
“…..You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backwards nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows ares sent forth…..”

The Cycle Project begins. Cycle until you don’t! Whether that’s in a boat, a bicycle or one step at time. The fast ITAI world continues to overwhelm Natasha, however she will continue to find a way to try and navigate it until she doesn’t. As I write here, the smart arse AI tries to predict what I am going to say and takes over! It’s like a controlling bossy partner! Natasha will fight back. Of course she is appreciative of all of her fellow travellers on the journey. Those who rage with her those who laugh with her but at least allows her to speak her words. She comforts herself with the idea the AI hasn’t worked out how to take her body with all it’s flaws away… yet!

Turtle crawled to the beach of Inverloch, Victoria, Australia . SO so good to see the sea and the sky and walk on the beach and just be. Some how it made him feel not so far away from his home in Africa.

I have to say. It’s good to have a brain. Though it’s also good to have a functioning body to go with the brain. This awakens the age old body or mind dilemna which of course isn’t really a dilemma as you can’t have one with out the other. And then there is the question of tortoise or elephants? Nat is going a bit mad!

It’s been a long time. Time stops for no one and with it nor does life or death. Tim and Tam are twins. However Tim is dying as we all do. Tam is helpless and powerless to stop time. She can only watch as we all do. And perhaps be a witness to time taking her brother?

It’s been nearly a year the anxiety, loneliness and fear as the pandemic continues to send us all into our boxes. Slowly we are sometimes daring to stop being so frightened and instead having some awareness and compassion for our fellow creatures. Vera is so glad she lives with Ralph, the dog who doesn’t seem to be fearful of saying Hello to another creature.

“…Lockdown town, we’ve been living’ in a lockdown town…” Pots sings to himself.
The poem by John Donne is pinned at a respectable social distance on the notice board . All the notices are. Everyone is isolated and lonely and more and more people have retreated inside themselves. All hidden behind masks. When asked ” How are you?” , the reply is ” Fine”,but really many are not fine and Pots fears there will be many more casualties from loneliness and isolation after the the lockdown is over. But hey what can you do when you’re locked up?
Nelson Mandela recited Invictus by W.E Henley each day in prison “…. I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.”

Frank now wears a mask because he doesn’t want to hurt anyone and he doesn’t visit his mum because he is told that will kill her with COVID. However when he rings her she says “I just want to see your face and hug you”, he hears her tears and he fears that his actions are hurting her and by not seeing her and hugging her, he is in fact killing her.
Franks friends say “We are all grieving”.
Frank thinks ” No we are all dying”

Otto ran away out of the infected city and is hiding under a bush in the country. He joined the ISOCHOIR and is connected to the world singing Quanta Qualia
Anima mea (Soul of mine)

Quanta Qualia ( how great and how wonderful)
Conventus gaudia ( the joy of the meeting)

A friend gave me a poem by Wendel Berry The Peace of Wild Things. It was left with Hairclip on a beautiful bench. She feels the world is struggling with a pandemic and mad leaders. Empires grow and then they crumble. We all die one day that is one thing all of us are assured of.
19th May 2020
Two weeks later and Alfie was still in awe of the swamp monster. COVID continues to dominate the human world. Alfie wonders if this will curb human’s arrogance!
5th May 2012
COVID 19 insanity in the world. All locked away in fear and not just from the virus! Fear of power crazed politicians feeding on our fears and letting bills through without discussion or debate. The mantra is ” Stay at Home and stay safe!” However life is out there and at some point we will want to go out and hug our children and our friends and if there is a risk then may be there has always been a risk and at the very least we will be able to witness what these power people have been doing while we shiver in our homes with fear!
12th March 2020

So what do YOU see?
Everyone sees something differnt. Do you see the person kissing the other person’s nose? Or do you just see the lurking monster or broken tiles or? So what you might think however if we are all seeing different things how the heck do we communicate!
26th January 2020
Today thousands of indigenous and white people came to mourn those lost in the war of our nation when thousands of Indigenous people were wiped from the planet. No Treaty. No acknowledgement they were defending their home. History is a frightening process as those in power often paint the picture for their own ends. The fight for recognition of the true history of Australia continues.

Check out this short film of Liu Bolin and his team of how they created the Art works. I think it wonderful to realise this was a team effort.
I wish the world could be more team spirited….perhaps we are all just doing the best we can.
7th September 2019
Silly me! Somehow I thought the exhibition was the end! However life continues in new forms and shapes. Where some things end others begin and so it goes…

Why do we do what we do? Two people have embarked on a golf game on the longest golf course in the world only one person doesn’t leave home while the other roams all around Australia. How does that work? It works because of the two people’s connection to each other.

Part of something bigger…. but what?
It’s been awhile. Perhaps life is an ongoing sense of “What on earth amI doing?” Thats’ how it feels anyway with different ideas popping up and saying ” I am worth pursuing !” till another one comes and then I see something amazing in nature and the world and really I know it is all just trying to find ways to appreciate this great big universe we find ourselves in!
14th December 2018
One thing is certain time doesn’t stop. I am not sure where this project is heading. Perhaps to a project with kids to help them feel apart of the world. Or perhaps a more private journey for the old soul? We will see as the wise zen master said….I thank each person who has journeyed with the gang this far. From 94 different countries. Someone said there is only 7 degrees of separation between all of us. Amazing I guess if you see the Queen of England say a “Howdy doo from us!”.
7th November 2018
All except Four eyes has ventured out into the world. Will Four eyes stay or go?
11th October 2018

The workshop team; The Great Wall of St Kilda, Eyes and Bali surfer are yet to embark on their journey.
You think something ends and it does and yet life goes on. And so some of those created by artist at the exhibition have gone out into the world. Perhaps there is no meaning and yet as Beckett so eloquently said it in Watt…..there is something in nothing… and on we go.
A week latere the snake left the T shirt. Sometimes it just doesn’t feel right to stay!
2nd August 2018
So here is the thing. Two years later out on Windy Corner about to ski into a blizzard. There in the corner of the notice board is a graffittigranny poem, Hope by Emily Dickinson left two years ago on a post in another white out!!! How exciting is that and a real testament to No Man is an Island!

28th July 2018
Wow that was an experience! The gang are happy to be safely back in the flats. Only to find the flats are to be disposed of. Some have already moved into new homes to continue their journey. As for the six new fellows made at the exhibition we are not sure of their fate. The paper bark seems beautiful whether it is in a classy gallery or hanging from the back fence.
26th June 2018
Less than 3 weeks to go and we are freaking out! Us, graffiti grannies are used to being “ninjas” in the night not public exposure!! Anyway if you happen to be near Balkon Art Incubator 635 Plenty Rd Preston Melbourne between 12-5 pm on 14th or 15th or 21st or 22nd July 2018 please pop in and meet all the gang who stayed at home at the flats as well as wonderful photographs of where their twins and brothers and friends landed in the world.

Shock and Crazy trying to look spruced up for the Big Exhibition!
18th April 2018

So you would think 3 months preparation left for this 5-6 year project exhibition would be enough time. However how do I honour everyone who has danced in this project including all the folk who stayed at home? We are planning a ” Sculpture Bomb” in June with some of these folk so they can dance in the sunlight.
20th January 2018
The day, 176 years ago, Maulboyheener & Tunnerminnerwait were hung in 1842 for fighting for their land. Though it was renamed “murder”.

And so All those who stayed at home are going to have their day. An exhibition at Balkon Art Incinerator 635 Plenty Rd Preston, in Melbourne to celebrate everyone of the participants will hopefully happen between Friday 13th July to 29th July 2018.
Sadly, the Friday 13th July is an anniversary of a troubled teenager who took her own life for ” nothing” in 2012. However like Deadulus, when Icarus plummeted to the sea. His life had to go on and all he could do was continue to grieve his son and remember.
17th October 2017
Red returns to the park in Kew , Melbourne after 46 years. It has all changed and yet the earth is still under her feet. She reads Emily Dickinson’s poem “Hope” with a sense of melancholia or is is nostalgia? As she remembers walking these gardens with her father to catch the bus all those years ago.
17th September 2017
Still trying to weed!!!!!
21st August 2017.
There is hope of having an exhibition with some of the folk that stayed at home and the glorious images of those who ventured out into the world. Why ? To honour everyone who dared to play and dared to live. Of course I must keep pruning. I remember as a child being asked to weed the garden however this seemed an impossible task as how do you decide what is a weed and what is of value?
3rd June 2017
It seems pruning and editing are essential for growth. Or at least some sort of growth.
22nd April 2017
Sometimes we just have to keep going on even though we have no idea what we are doing it for. The point is we exist. We all exist and one day we won’t so in the meantime…

Shell is embarrased at her existence. She tries to blurr into the background. She reads the poem by Rumi ” The Gift”

I am here because I am here.
22nd January 2017

The joys of a four week old piece of Turkish bread. Yummy!
I keep thinking I MUST edit. How does one edit life and yet how essential it is if we want to keep living life. Like prunning perhaps. So it is time to throw this bit of bread away despite all the new exciting fungi and mould which come to live on it. Likewise it is time all these sculptys headed out into the world.
14th January 2017

Blue Pig and Yellow Pig are having a moment until they go their separate ways. There are only moments together which go to make a life.
5th November 2016 Guy Fawkes Day

Big Mouth feels alone but realises we are all alone in some way.
The year zooms by. Civilisations come and go. I have journeyed with my fellow artist to South America through Big Mouth. Such an honour and adventure. Big Mouth avoided the hurricanes in Cuba but only just. Life does seem to be a Russian roulette of existence.
29th August 2016.

Sometimes some of us get lost. Boots is lost in transition. The others think he just got too big for his boot so to speak. They suggested he go watch the stars and planets and get some perspective on his life.
The project still has hopes of ” The next Generation” with children and also “Reflection”for all the artists who have partaken in the venture. Forward and Backwards and UP and Down!
29th June 2016
The federal elections in Australia are on the 2nd July and all we have as leaders are people who cannot seem to speak the truth. Which of course raises the question What is the truth? And is politics a no go zone?

Oh Man cut with all the existential questions and just be glad you are breathing!
25th April 2016 Anzac Day
We remember those fallen in world war I on a foreign shore but we forget about the war fought between the indigenous people of Australia and the British settlers. Were they not also fighting for the land and home that they loved and cherished?
4th March 2016
Let’s get more socially active and go out with a bang! Climate Chane seems the obvious one but there are so many causes to sink ones rage into! The various corruption of the big powers; lawyers, the church as Gandalf mentioned be very careful of the ring of power!
28th January 2016.
“Keep going” a voice says. Like life she is not entirely sure where to! I have been thinking I need to cull and edit in the hope I can see more clearly. However when your eye sight is going no amount of editing will bring it back but then perhaps you won’t trip over so many things! I need one of those ” clean up” people.
I am wondering where the project is heading. I had hoped to get some children to send their sculptures out and have a page ” The Next Generation” however we will see. Or maybe some of the sculptures may get involved in the campaign to save the planet from Climate Change.
5th September 2015
Babe left the pumpkin patch in Northcote, three months after getting there. She had heard from the pumpkin vine that now a dear friend’s fathers had died. Was she next and so perhaps she is finally going in search of her beginnings with, Wanjiku after 30 years.

Where are you now?
4th July 2015
Someone’s dead mother’s birthday. Someone else’s child is born.
Can you have a birthday when you are dead?

Babe is still in the garden patch. One month after moving out of the flats. She is nearly buried in the mulch however she is alive and that is all she asks for. Life.
11th May 2015
Day after Mother’s Day in Australia.
Mad Cat hates Mother’s Day, only because she feels so inadequate. But “what you gonna do?” she says to herself as she listens to the magpies in Loch and then feels better as she think of her kittens all out there living their lives not buying dead mice to make her feel better about herself!
31st March 2015
How is the “plot” going? The plot seems to be about choosing life and connection over death and destruction. The little fellow who venture out into the world and their cautious sometimes more fearful twin who remains at home to wait and watch. The world needs both neither is more valuable than the other and both need the other.

Flotsum and Jetsom love each other. Now Flotsum is about the embark on a journey into the world. Jetsam doesn’t want him to leave but he also knows that for Flotsom staying would be death.
7th March 2015
I hope the amazing people who made the Music for Change, “Stand by Me”, do not mind me putting the link on the blog. I think it is so amazing and so uplifting. Eros VAPS Smith is heading out to smile at whoever he meets!
30th December 2014
It has been nearly two years since the project began. On looking back I feel it looks like the diary of a mad person however aren’t we all a tad mad? One hundred fellows are out in the world with many of their twins or family back in Melbourne. About forty fellow “artist” have assisted their journeys. Every time ten sculptures get out there $100 get donated to a homeless agency perhaps to try and feel ” helpful” rather than just “playful”. However it is all much of a muchness in the end “help” or “play”. reminds me of
Lewis Carroll’s Lobster Quadrille; Will you, won’t you, will you, won’t you, will you join the dance?
After all we are all homeless in some ways and also at home in another!
27th October 2014
Daisy stayed in Adelaide. She hopes she might find a beau just like the bride at the wedding. However she remembers her maiden aunt telling her “many a married woman are more lonely than she”, so Daisy decides to just be glad she dared to go to Adelaide to see South Australia!

Do we look normal? Astro boy is kicking himself as he missed out on going to St Petersburg because he was too scared of a foreign country with foreign people.
12th October 2014 Anxiety can stop us living for fear of what might happen. The powerful will use this anxiety to control. Astro has been controlled all his life living in a domestic violent family never to escape. However his siblings got away and no one can take his dreams. He dreams of being a famous artist. I wonder about that though. What is famous? Perhaps a desire to connect and be understood.
Igor Khodhin wrote
If you are lonely,
If you have no one To talk to..
Why not, visit, And try to talk . To yourself.
I wonder if Astro needs to do that more and then he might go outside and not project all his fears on to other people but rather be himself and meet the other. One can only hope!
26th August 2014 Trust. I suppose only time shows who you can trust and even then you may not know. In the meantime the sculptures’ journeys have shown me more of who is with me on this journey in life. I have been pondering the verse
Make new friends,
keep the old
one is silver and the other is gold.
Facebook has made the word “friend” a tad tricky to understand. Perhaps though there is only moments of friends.
A friend took Pepper on a journey and played with her by inviting others to have a “Selfie” with her. She discovered lots about life and then shared it with me. I felt my links with the world were strengthened.Thank you friend.
Musee des Beaux Arts by W H Auden
About suffering they were never wrong,
The Old Masters: how well they understood
Its human position; how it takes place
WHile someone else is eating or opening a window or just walking dully along;
How when the aged are reverently, passionately waiting
For the miraculous birth, there always must be
Children who did not specially want it to happen, skating
On a pond at the edge of the wood:
They never forgot
Tjat even the dreadful martyrdom must run its course
Anyhow in a corner, some untidy spot
Where the dogs go on with their doggy life and the torturer’s
horse
Scratches its innocent behind on a tree
In Breughel’s Icarus, for instance: how everything turns
away
Quite leisurely from the disaster; the ploughman may
have heard the splash, the forsaken cry,
But for him it was not an important failure; the sun shone
As it had on the white legs disappearing into the green
water; and the expensive delicate ship that must have seen
Something amazing, a boy falling out of the sky,
had somewhere to get to and sailed calmly on.

somewhere along the way I lost my way so I placed this fellow out in the world as a scout to help me find my way.

Vines in Robinvale which were planted by his father after the war.
Between the idea
And the reality
between the motion
and the act
Falls the Shadow
from Hollow Man T S Elliott ( 1888-1965)
I can get lost in the shadow land and it is hard to find the way out so I always carry some string.

What a cool view!
31st August 2013 Sometimes a friend playing with you can be enough to restore your spirits even when your friend is thousands of miles away. Hairdo is travelling in the Australian Outback. She sent this photo back of herself looking out of her van.

Sometimes you get broken by the journey but it is still worth going.
11th August 2013 So many hellos and good byes I feel my heart is aching and breaking and yet I know that this is life to bear the bonjour and the au revoir. Je suis triste. My love by Dorothy HewettThe red sun sinks over Cyprus
As it is sinking now,
And does your dark head linger thus,
And is the dying sunlight on your brow,
So cool and chaste
And double- faced?
You turn too quickly so my breath
Comes sharp.
Oh die dark face over Cyprus;
Oh die thin body in the Cyprus sun.
Nor must I see your tragic figure run
To see embrace me now the day is done.
The red sun sinks, and with its sinking I
have felt you die.
Good bye… my love.
12th June 2013 Not sure why I put this photo in the blog except I am impressed with the blurr and also the view through the hole.
We do not often stop to look through the holes and yet it can be pretty interesting. The yoga people suggest we stand on our head to get a better perspective on life. As the caterpillar recited to Alice
“You are old Father William,” the young man said,
“And your hair has become very white:
And yet you incessantly stand on your head-
Do you think, at your age , it is right?”
Lewis Carroll
However the blur are the occupants of the letterbox. Are they the forgotten people or is that the bigger view of out side is a better thing to focus on? Sometimes I ask too many questions rather than shutting up and listening for the answers in the quiet.
I am so excited that there are people falling upon the blog and like the travellers with the sculptures are journeying in this world together if only for a short moment.
You are old father William

Triste at the entrance to his flat. Will he dare to engage with the world or will he stay in the safety of his four walls with only the sparrow as company?
25th May 2013 This is a photo by a professional artist!
Triste feels suddenly as if he is now someone of importance even though nothing has changed. Or has it? He still feels lonely but now someone knows. Both the photographer and the sparrow know where Triste lives and have witnessed his life and they are still visiting him.
14th April 2013. Barbie has pulled her head out of the dirt. Not without incident as her head got left behind. However after some digging we found it and popped it back on.
Why am I telling you this?
The blog site keeps going.
A friend died last week and the ripples of his death keep washing against the shore.
Another web site to consider http://www.endlesshorizons.org.au
Why? because because because because of the wonderful things he does!!!
1st April 2013 April fools day.
There is always a favorite and there is always ” the other one”.Who are you in the family? Does it matter in the end? Too many questions with no answers as really favorites are only relative and from the position of who ever has the power.
2nd March 2013 The plot seems to get less clear the more I go on in this project and yet that in itself seems an achievement.
20th January 2013 A New Year, can we leave the last year behind us? I think I am finding the plot. What ever that means.

Here is where the plot is.
30th November 2012 I think I have lost the plot. Not that I ever had the plot. We had the twins idea and then the single mother idea, and then siblings and now I am not sure what the heck is going on. There are sculptures and photographs everywhere. I feel a sense of panic as the chaos seems to be rising!
5th October 2012
I found this poem in a book which I plucked out of a dumpster. I love rubbish!
Can I hold the baby chick in my hand?
Certainly.
It’s so soft and small.
You’re holding it too tightly.
But I love it.
You should hold what you love with an open hand.
Paul. B. Lawney
“12,133 kids in Australia are homeless right now”
Perhaps the next ten sculptures can be dedicated to homeless kids.
But then is the project loosing its freedom by being bound to charity and ” goodness” merely to cover my guilt?
Or perhaps
http://www.reachout.com an organisation encouraging kids to speak out.
or
http://www.familiamoja.org an orphanage in Kenya
or
http://www.melbournecitymission.org.au
may be worthy organisations to support as well or they too might be corrupt!
At some point I guess I have to make a leap and trust myself to the universe.
13th July 2012
OK perhaps this is the behind the dashboard page. The brain!
Perhaps this is really where the action is happening? For me anyway!
( Added on 20th January 2013) This was an ominous day when a young girl decided she would kill herself in the pursuit of nothingness. She failed to realise that nothing is not free and that her act would cost many people a lot of pain and suffering for years to come.
We are all connected and “nothing” is an illusion.
No Man is an Island by John Donne
No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thine own
Or of thine friend’s were.
Each man’s death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bells told,
It tolls for thee.
I have been busy creating this site since 12th April 2012. What is the purpose or as the Mock Turtle would say Porpoise.

Your way of telling all in this paragraph is truly
good, all be able to easily be aware of it, Thanks a lot.
